StatementSheet vs MoneyThumb

Written by the maker of StatementSheet — including credit to MoneyThumb where they deserve it.

Last updated July 2026 · prices verified on vendors' public pricing pages, links below

Read this first: we make StatementSheet, so we are a biased source — treat this page the way you'd treat any vendor's comparison. Everything below is verifiable: competitor prices link to their own pricing pages (checked July 2026, they may change), and our biggest claims about ourselves can be tested in 60 seconds without paying (convert a statement with Wi-Fi off, watch the Network tab). Where a competitor is the better choice, we say so.

The short version

MoneyThumb has been converting statements since 2015 and its strength is format breadth: QBO, QFX, OFX, QIF and CSV, aimed squarely at QuickBooks and Quicken users. It comes as online plans (from $24.95/month for 5 statement conversions) or desktop applications with lifetime licenses ($599.95–$699.95).

Credit where due: MoneyThumb's desktop converters process files locally on your machine, like we do — their privacy story for desktop is legitimate. The differences are cost model, convenience, and verification: StatementSheet is $19 in the browser with no install and a penny-exact verification gate; MoneyThumb desktop is a $600 lifetime tool with far more output formats.

The honest FAQ

Isn't MoneyThumb desktop just as private?

For local processing, essentially yes — desktop software keeps files on your machine. The differences are auditability (our code is public and unminified; you can read what runs before it runs), zero install, and price. If you already own a MoneyThumb license and it works for you, keep using it.

Why doesn't StatementSheet export QBO?

Scope. Excel/CSV covers QuickBooks Online, Xero, and spreadsheet workflows, and keeping the tool small is what makes it auditable. If QBO demand is real, it's on the roadmap — email us and vote.
